4-5 of September BRICS summit in Xiamen, China

Leaders of BRICS countries took part in summit in Xiamen, China.

«Relations between the BRICS countries have developed to the point of comprehensive partnership over the past few years… Our countries come together to address vital socioeconomic issues, or more precisely, to modernize national industries, develop high technologies, promote competition and improve the living standards of our people» - said Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Xiamen Declaration of the leaders of the BRICS countries was adopted following the meeting. It notes that it is significant to deepen cooperation in such areas as culture, education, science and technology, sports and health. Leaders also declared their support for collaboration on education and research in the framework of the League of Universities and BRICS Network University.
