Article by Nikolay Kulyasov Published in CIS Iron and Steel Review

The journal  CIS Iron and Steel Review  has published an article titled  “Experimental Research of the Regularities of Iron-Bearing Ore Desulfurization for the Temperature Conditions of Liquid Phase Sintering”  by Nikolay Kulyasov, Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Climate Change Economics.

The article explores desulfurization processes of iron-bearing raw materials during smelting, focusing on the use of various additives and the regulation of the chemical composition of the gas environment. The study examines temperature conditions for impurity sintering, the influence of ore and solid fuel particle size distribution, and the mechanisms for sulfur removal. The authors conclude that a two-stage desulfurization process—comprising solid-phase and liquid-phase stages—is necessary for effective sulfur elimination.
