Center for African Studies looks for participants in a two-month paid internship at the African Energy Chamber
The internship starts at the end of July and will last until October 2025, and involves working at the headquarters of the African Energy Chamber, a leading organization uniting key players in the African energy sector. Participants of the program will have a unique opportunity to participate in the African Energy Week, the largest event in the field of investment and innovation in the African energy sector, bringing together ministers, representatives of international organizations and industry experts. In 2025, the event will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from September 29 to October 3.
The internship is the result of an agreement signed between the HSE University and the AEP at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 19, 2025. The agreement establishes the development of academic and educational exchanges between the HSE and the AEP to develop analytical, leadership and communication skills among young people. All internship participants are provided with free flight and accommodation in an equipped two-room apartment five minutes from the AEP office. The program also provides a monthly scholarship to cover personal expenses. Interns will be able to take part in excursions, as well as establish business contacts with representatives of the African energy sector. In addition, the best participants will receive a personal letter of recommendation from the Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, NJ Ayuk, who visited the HSE University in March 2025 and delivered an open lecture "The African Energy Agenda: Prospects and Challenges".
Requirements for candidates:
- Students of 2-4 Bachelor's degree courses and all Master's degree courses;
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of French or Portuguese will be an advantage.
- During the selection of candidates, special attention will be paid to research experience and the development of communication skills.
