The internship competition at the African Energy Chamber has been completed
According to the results, two students of the “International Relations” Bachelor’s program at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, Elizaveta Evseeva and Daniil Moskalev, were chosen to go to South Africa. In total, more than 30 HSE students took part in the competition. In total, more than 30 HSE students took part in the competition.
Elizabeth and Daniel shared their impressions with us:
“The competition was challenging, the guys competed among themselves, who all deserve to take part in the internship, so the jury's work was not easy at all. Nevertheless, I managed to pass, so I would like to express my gratitude to the HSE Center for African Studies for this opportunity to participate in the competition and for its efforts to establish bilateral relations with foreign organizations, which allowed us to take part in this competition for the internship. I hope that the energy and creative potential of the Center will lead to the number of new productive internship opportunities, which, of course, will increase opportunities for students to work and gain useful skills abroad.
As for my expectations, I think that this internship will divide my life into “before” and “after” both due to its scale and duration, and due to the very unusual nature of this event - to go to the edge of the world as a student, while also gaining useful work experience and acquaintances. All this, in my opinion, is the absolute limit of dreams. I am sure that this experience will be unforgettable!” - Daniel Moskalev, a 4th-year student of the “International Relations” educational program.
“It's only been three days since my mailbox burst into flames with an invitation letter, and now it's only 24 hours before the plane. The mind has not yet managed to catch up with reality, and friends and acquaintances are blinking in disbelief: "Is this possible here, in the HSE?" I nod happily and try to fasten my suitcase, which is still not yielding” - Elizaveta Evseeva, a 3rd-year student of the “International Relations” educational program.
All participants demonstrated a high level of theoretical knowledge and motivation. The final decision on the approval of candidates was made by the leadership of the HSE Center for African Studies together with colleagues from the African Energy Chamber. Among the selection criteria were research experience in the field of energy, knowledge of Africa, as well as foreign language proficiency and communication skills.
We thank everyone for participating in the competition and wish you success in your further studies and career plans.
Congratulations to Elizaveta Evseeva and Daniil Moskalev on winning the competition. Good luck completing your internship!
