Deputy Director of the Center for African Studies participated in the Russian Energy Week 2025 forum
From October 15-17, 2025, the international forum Russian Energy Week 2025 took place in Moscow. It was organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Ministry of Energy, with the support of the Moscow Government. Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, participated as a speaker in the forum's session "Russia – Africa: Toward the Practical Implementation of Energy Projects."
During three days of the forum, more than 7,000 participants - statesmen, energy companies representatives, experts, and scholars from 100 countries - discussed key trends in the oil, gas, and coal sectors, as well as renewable energy and digital technologies. The forum aimed to discuss current issues in fuel and energy industries.
On October 15, 2025, the Manege Central Exhibition Hall hosted the session "Russia–Africa: Toward the Practical Implementation of Energy Projects." Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, participated in the session. In his speech, he paid attention to the role of data in developing Russian-African energy cooperation and the Center's expert and analytical work in the energy field.
Furthermore, during the session, participants discussed strategies for developing African energy in the context of demographic growth, investments in African energy infrastructure, and the potential of Russian fuel and energy companies providing their African counterparts their technologies and experience in gas, nuclear, and hydropower.
