Andrey Maslov Moderated the «Russia–Tanzania Business Dialogue» Session at SPIEF

The session opened with welcoming remarks by Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
The opening address was also delivered by Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
«This Forum is not merely a landmark event. It is a gathering of great minds that is highly valuable for advancing our partnership and delivering significant benefits for both countries and their peoples. I am pleased to welcome representatives of the business community, private sector, and the countries of Eurasian cooperation. All of them make an important contribution to the economic development of our nations. Tanzania and Russia have experienced a period of dynamic growth and strengthening friendship over recent decades. An atmosphere of mutual trust has been built. We did not start from scratch; rather, we built upon partnerships that have been reinforced over the years. Now is the time to move beyond simple trade and towards deep industrial cooperation», she noted.
«Russia is very serious about its partnership with Tanzania. When we speak about 35,000 Russian supermarkets that could stock Tanzanian products, this represents a unique opportunity that only a few African countries receive. We must support our President’s initiatives aimed at helping all Tanzanians access international markets.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you, Minister Maxim Reshetnikov. I hope that everything we discussed in Arusha and today in St. Petersburg will be translated into practical results», noted Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
Moderator Andrey Maslov finalised the event:
«Tanzania is one of Russia’s closest friends in Africa and one of the most attractive destinations for Russian investment. Its key advantage lies in its political leadership, and I would like to express my gratitude to Madam President for taking part in the Forum».
Also, as part of the event, an exchange of cooperation agreements took place between the Tanzania Investment Centre and the Roscongress Foundation.
