HSE Center for African Studies organizes a lecture for students and a roundtable with representatives of the African Union Commission
The event is organized by the HSE Center for African Studies as part of the educational «Africa» track at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. It will take place on June 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the HSE University White Hall (Room A-201), located at 11 Pokrovsky Boulevard, Moscow.
Representatives of the African Union Commission (AUC) will participate in the event, including H.E. Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the AUC, and Patience Zanelli Chiradza, Director of the Governance and Conflict Prevention Directorate within the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the AUC. The discussion will be moderated by Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies.
The event is dedicated to discussing international experience in the digital dimensions of peacebuilding and conflict monitoring, the instruments of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA), and the opportunities for using IT solutions to monitor the socio-political situation and detect conflicts at an early stage. Participants will gain insights into African approaches to regional security governance and learn about the prospects for academic and expert cooperation between HSE University and African Union institutions.
