HSE University Professor’s Seminar Featuring Pakistan’s Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi
The event was moderated by Dmitry Efremenko, Head of the School of Regional Studies. Welcome remarks were delivered by Sergey Karaganov, Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, and Anastasia Likhacheva, Dean of the faculty.
In his presentation, Ambassador Tirmizi shared his assessment of the prospects for Russia–Pakistan cooperation in the political, trade and economic, and academic and educational spheres. He also outlined Islamabad’s approach to the most pressing international and regional issues, including opportunities to broaden cooperation within SCO.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, including Andrey Baklanov, Alexey Efimov, Murad Sadygzade, Andrey Zeltyn, Evgeny Kanaev, Elmira Imamkulieva, and others. Students of the faculty and members of the HSE Middle East Club also took an active part in the Q&A session.
The event served as a platform for an in-depth exchange of expert views on current issues in Russia–Pakistan relations and the regional agenda, as well as for discussing prospects for academic and educational cooperation.
