Meeting of the HSE Bulgarian Club with M. Karagyozov

The Bulgarian Club of the National Research University Higher School of Economics under the aegis of the International Laboratory for World Order Studies and the New Regionalism will hold a seminar with Marian Karagyozov on “The EU and Turkey – the Eternal Candidate”.

Marian Karagyozov is a graduate of one of Bulgaria's most prestigious liberal arts schools, St. Konstantin-Cyril Philosopher's College. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia. Marian Karagyozov also holds a bachelor's degree in Oriental Studies from the New Bulgarian University, is the author of a monograph on contemporary Turkish foreign policy and has a doctoral dissertation from the Institute of Balkan Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where he is currently a research fellow.

M. Karagyozov's dissertation focuses on Turkey's foreign policy toward the Middle East (2002-2011). He has also written numerous articles in Bulgarian periodicals and specialized publications, mainly about Turkey and the Arab countries, and worked as a correspondent for the Bulgarian National Radio in Turkey, where he covered Turkey's domestic and foreign policy and communicated with dozens of political figures, experts and representatives of civil, business and academic circles.

Since 2021, he has also served as head of the cabinet of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria.
