Situation centers and intelligent analytical systems

The department develops practical skills in using situation centers (SCs) with the aim of teaching students modern methods of business management in international markets using advanced methodologies and tools.

SCs provide the functionality of decision support systems designed for managing complex distributed organizational structures: corporations, holdings, and government bodies.

SCs replicate a distributed structure, unified into a single whole by an information system and communication systems (telephony, video conferencing).

SC equipment allows for scalability and integration with similar training systems located both in Russia and abroad.

The system provides unified workstations (ARMs) for students and teachers.

The following decision-making pyramid is implemented in the SC:

-   Situational Center

-   Analytical, modeling, and forecasting systems

-   Systems ensuring the collection and processing of primary data: ERP, ABS, CRM

-   Systems providing information about external factors

The management system provides information on the state and external factors (i.e., emulates the behavior of the external world) and also enables the launch of predefined scenarios (e.g., changes in sales volumes, resource costs, competitive conditions, product life cycles, influence of political factors, crisis situations, etc.).

As a result each scenario teaches the application of specific methodologies for solving typical management problems.

The SC deploys the most common software packages used for managing company activities. These systems handle primary information.

As a result students learn to use modern and most common business management systems at a technological level.

The SC is equipped with the most common analytical, modeling, and forecasting systems, enabling analysis, modeling, and forecasting.

As a result students learn to use modern and most common systems for modeling, forecasting, and analytics.

The SC implements the capabilities of a situational center as an effective tool for managing complex distributed organizational structures.

As a result students master:

-   Methodologies for defining, clustering, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs)

-   Skills in collecting data from diverse sources (ERP systems, ABS, CRM systems, etc.)

-   Methodologies for multi-criteria analysis, evaluation, and filtering of solution sets

-   Situation modeling

and learn to:

-   Identify market trends

-   Make effective management decisions in real-time

-   Forecast and plan the development of the managed object

-   Optimize the management decision-making cycle through end-to-end involvement of competence centers in the process.
