Intersystem and interdisciplinary interaction
Modern theories of the development of socio-economic objects are united in their vision of the need to consider the full range of factors reflecting the influence of the structure and interaction of elements of the internal and intersystem levels when constructing models of the studied phenomena. Similar questions arise in high-tech engineering fields, where a significant contribution to their resolution is made by the provisions of the theories of similarity and system management. The heaviness of the models obtained served as the basis for finding ways to reduce the complexity of their application, which stimulated the development of expert statistical approaches to the assessment and forecasting of targets.
An analysis of practical experience of an interdisciplinary nature allows us to identify a sufficient set of requirements in the field of system interaction, ensuring the achievement of the desired ratio of sustainability and efficiency indicators: intersystem consistency: consistency of the goals of lower-level systems with the objectives of upper-level systems (embeddability); internal consistency: consistency of system elements in terms of goals, quality, time, significance and optimization of the used resources; consistency of life cycle subsystems: consistency of three similar subsystems — defining goals, achieving goals, and adapting to changes.
The formation of methodological provisions and approaches to the development of interdisciplinary competencies of young specialists in the context of modern integration processes and global challenges is one of the priority areas of the Joint Department with “Avtopromimport” «International Competitiveness».
The long history of mankind confirms that to ensure leadership in any field of activity, it is necessary to consider the widest possible range of issues affecting the achievement of desired results. In modern conditions, which are characterized by the need to process and analyze incoming information much faster and make informed management decisions based on it, the introduction of principles of interdisciplinary interaction is becoming not only relevant, but also an important condition for the successful functioning and development of businesses, government institutions, educational and scientific institutions. The world's leading universities are actively implementing interdisciplinary research in educational, scientific, and practical activities, and as a result, they receive significant advantages in improving the quality of education, increasing competitiveness in the educational services market, strengthening their positions in international rankings, and strengthening cooperation with business. For example, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), interdisciplinary approaches are implemented through the MIT Media Lab, which brings together researchers from computer science, design, and biology to develop innovative solutions. At Stanford University, the Stanford Bio-X program integrates knowledge from biology, medicine, and engineering to address health challenges, while at Oxford University, the Oxford Martin School focuses on global challenges such as climate change and sustainable development, bringing together experts from various scientific fields.
Currently, the advantages of using an interdisciplinary approach are being considered by researchers from various fields, including social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and technical sciences. The current level of scientific development and the challenges faced by humanity lead to the need to develop informed solutions for a wide range of complex tasks that cannot be covered within a single discipline. In this context, the development of interdisciplinary cooperation involving the integration of knowledge, methods and approaches from various scientific fields can provide the necessary tools to solve complex problems (Obidina, 2022). It is emphasized that this approach should be distinguished from multidisciplinary, which is limited to using different fields of knowledge without their interaction. Disciplinary knowledge serves as the basis for interdisciplinary research, and an interdisciplinary approach, in turn, stimulates the development of individual disciplines (Wernli and Darbellay, 2016). Such an approach is becoming a key success factor in developing initiatives in the context of global challenges and modern integration processes. According to researchers, interdisciplinary cooperation allows developing initiatives in response to global challenges, including migration, regional development, and human capital formation, combating climate change, and digitalization [Jacob, 2015, Karnyshev et al., 2019].
In education, interdisciplinarity contributes to the formation of an integrated knowledge system among students, which is especially important in the context of innovative development and solving complex problems [Naletova, 2022]. Thus, within the framework of university education, interdisciplinarity allows combining humanities, natural sciences, and professional disciplines, creating conditions for the formation of students' project thinking and supra-professional competencies [Senashenko, 2016].
The basis of the department's development was determined by the provisions of the theory of intersystem interaction, which allowed it to become one of the centers for the development of digital counterparts of socio-economic systems, intelligent analytical systems, system models of competitiveness management and management of global initiatives and allowed it to obtain the rights to develop the student phase of the PSKK project. The central element of the implementation of interdisciplinary interaction between Joint Department with "Avtopromimport" was its initiation and implementation of three regular annual applied projects for more than ten years, covering the main stages of initiatives that take into account modern integration processes, and devoted to the analysis of project implementation conditions within the framework of international cooperation, operational and project management, as well as the development and deployment of strategies for participants in competitive relations. As part of the tools aimed at theoretical training of students, more than ten interdisciplinary disciplines have been developed on the justification of managerial decisions in the context of modern transformational processes, which are taught within the framework of university-wide educational profiles. To develop students' analytical competencies, the interdisciplinary training package included specialized research seminars aimed at mastering relevant methods of analysis and forecasting, as well as their use as part of initiatives in the field of business, social sphere and government regulation, the skills of which students demonstrate in preparation for completing their course and graduation qualification works.
A special role in the work of BC API in the field of interdisciplinary interaction was played by her participation in the organization of the student stage of the development of the project Platform for Core Compentences Coinvestment which has been implemented at the HSE University for more than five years in interaction with Rostec and Rosatom State Corporations and IRP Technology. On the one hand, this project has become an independent major disciplinary interuniversity project, in which more than three hundred students from eight universities participated. On the other hand, within the framework of the student phase of the PSKK project, an in-depth adaptation of the platform's functionality was carried out for use as part of the educational process as a tool for interdisciplinary and interuniversity interaction.
Based on established practices and accumulated experience, a set of components and stages of educational practices for the development of interdisciplinary cooperation competencies has been proposed, supported by the main departments and management of the HSE University, and including:
- presentation of the basic provisions of interdisciplinary interaction (based on the principles of intersystem interaction and system engineering) as part of the installation courses/ disciplines at the initial stages of the educational programs of faculties / university;
- development, coordination and implementation of interaction infrastructure tools, motivational and financial support to stimulate the participation of teachers and students in interdisciplinary projects;
- the development and implementation of interdisciplinary project work in the educational process, their consistent integration with the programs of research seminars, the preparation of course and graduation qualification works;
- the development of joint interdisciplinary vocational courses – inter-faculty and interuniversity, including vocational courses based on the competencies of individual faculties;
- testing and implementation of unified tools for initiating and implementing projects in the formats of intra-university, inter-university, joint with industrial and public-administrative partners, as well as international cooperation.
The current trends in the development of integration processes in the economy, society, and international relations, as well as the accumulated experience in interdisciplinary training of young specialists, form the prerequisites for a scientifically based analysis and development of approaches for effective adaptation to the changes. An urgent task in this field is to unite the efforts of representatives of the widest range of scientists and practitioners to develop basic methodological principles, tools, as well as methods and experience of their applied implementation. Achieving positive results in the field of interdisciplinary interaction has the potential to influence the level of training of young specialists significantly positively and, as a result, the indicators of economic and social development of the state and its system of international relations.
The achieved results and materials on intersystem and interdisciplinary interaction were presented, widely discussed, and received a positive professional assessment at the IX International Economic Symposium at the XXXI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Management: management in the context of the development of integration processes" and the XIV Forum on Digitalization of the Russian Military-Industrial Complex "ITOPK-2025».
The field of intersystem and interdisciplinary interaction is one of the current global trends, has significant prospects for development and effective application both in the Russian economy and in the international market, and opens wide opportunities for professional growth and career achievements.
