Year after year, the environmental agenda is high on both national and global sustainable development agendas. Despite the fact that the rankings of the ‘greenest’ countries in the world traditionally consist of Western countries, governments in the East are also initiating more and more such projects, and there are international forums in the region aimed at environmental regulation and eco-education. The concept of ‘ecological civilisation’ is not alien to Eastern states and has its place in national development goals.
It is the theme of ‘green’ policies and strategies of the Eastern countries that was chosen as the central theme of the 2nd Round Table of Young Scholars ‘The Modern East: Politics, Society, Economy’, which will be held in English. How effective are the measures taken by countries; what projects exist; what tools are used and what levels of regulation exist; what place Eastern countries will take in the overall scoring of the fight against environmental threats - these and other questions require careful study and analysis. The content of discussions on this topic will focus on government and non-government projects underway in Asia and Africa.
Section 1. ‘Green policy: A New Outlook on Challenges’
We also invite participants to make presentations in special sections, which are organized as platforms for the exchange of views in broad areas of Oriental studies:
Section 2. Innovations and economic processes in the countries of the East;
Section 3. International relations and politics in the countries of the East;
Section 4. History, society, and culture of the East.
