In the 21st century, the Global South represents a new geopolitical reality where developing countries play an increasingly significant role in global economics and politics. Despite the difficulties that have been negatively affecting the states of the region (inequality in access to resources, high levels of poverty, environmental instability), in recent years they have begun to take an increasingly confident position on the world stage. With the development of information technology and international trade, the countries of Asia, Latin America and Africa have become progressively attractive to investors and international corporations. The contribution of many of them to the development of the education and science systems led to an increase in their intellectual capital. Together with young and dynamic populations, states in the Global South are becoming the epicentre of economic growth and development.
The topic of the Global South and its interaction with countries of other regions is the central theme of the III Round Table of Young Researchers 'The Contemporary East: politics, society, economy', which will be held in English. What is the role of the Global South? What problems do countries face? What instruments of influence are used to consolidate their positions? What is the future of the Global South? These and other questions require careful study and analysis.
Various sections are formed as platforms for the exchange of views in broad areas of Asian and African studies: innovation, economics and management, politics, history, society, culture.
