The Economics PhD programme is designed to prepare professionals in economic research and education of the highest academic calibre in Russia, as well as the global academia. The Doctoral School of Economics offers training in the following fields:

This doctoral school offers a comprehensive three-year programme to train research and teaching staff in the following focus areas:

• Political issues of international relations, global and regional development
• Modern history
• History of international relations and foreign policy

By taking a qualification-based approach, the school aims to train international affairs experts, as well as historians of international relations and the modern age who have competencies not only in their field of research, but also in related research fields. Additionally, specialists trained by the school will have fundamental and applied knowledge, along with the skills in research, analysis, communication and teaching that will enable them to work effectively both on research teams and independently as required by their professional and career goals.
