RSG member A.S. Khiteva discussed cybersecurity issues at the Philippine Embassy
A.S. Khiteva, member of the Research and Study group “ASEAN+, BRICS+, NATO+: Prospects for Asian Integration” of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, recieved an invitation and held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines. Within the framework of the projects “National and Regional Cybersecurity Strategies and Institutions of East and Southeast Asian Countries” and “Pivot to the East: Philippines” the prospects of cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and other priority areas were discussed.
Khiteva A.S. discussed the prospects of interaction with Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Lorenza Arlene Gonzalez-Macaisa and Vice Consul Nonito Cabrera. Other representatives of the Embassy and colleagues from the Media Institute of the National Research University Higher School of Economics interested in strengthening academic partnerships also took part in the discussions.
One of the key topics of the meeting was cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.The representatives noted that this issue is a priority in the face of global challenges.
Initiatives discussed include joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, seminars and academic conferences.
One of the main objectives of the RSG “ASEAN+, BRICS+, NATO+: Perspectives on Asian Integration” is to develop academic ties with Southeast Asian countries on cybersecurity issues.
The participants of the meeting expressed hope for long-term and fruitful cooperation.
The meeting confirmed the high interest of the Philippines in strengthening ties with research centers of HSE, such as RSG, and scientific and educational interaction.
HSE projects continue to make a significant contribution to the development of international partnership as part of Russia's pivot to the East.
