Seminar of the HSE Bulgarian and Middle Eastern Clubs with Ruslan Trad

The HSE Bulgarian Club together with the HSE Middle East Club and under the aegis of the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism will hold a seminar in the format of a discussion on the topic “EU and the Arab World: Anxious Neighbors or Natural Partners?” The seminar's guest will be journalist and international expert Ruslan Trad.

Ruslan Trad is a freelance columnist, journalist, and author with a focus on Syria, conflicts, hybrid warfare, and mercenaries. He is a former author in Foreign Policy Bulgaria and Goethe Institute. He is a member of the Association of European Journalists - Bulgaria and co-founder of Bulgarian journal for conflicts and military history, De Re Militari. Ruslan Trad was a correspondent in Lebanon, Turkey, Iraqi Kurdistan, and Thailand for TEMA Weekly and Bulgarian National Radio. He reported also from Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. In 2014 he was awarded for his journalistic work on refugee issues and Syria war coverage. In 2017 his first book on the Syrian Civil War, The Murder of A Revolution, was published in Bulgaria. His second book - on the Russian mercenaries, co-authored with the researcher Kiril Avramov, was published in 2020. He is frequently invited as a speaker at TRT World, Al Jazeera, Europost, The New Arab, BBC Persian, L`Express, Bild and other world media.
