The Scientific Seminar with Ambassador of Mexico to the Russian Federation Norma Pensado

On Friday, April 9, 2021, the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs   was delighted to host a special Scientific Seminar with Ambassador of Mexico to the Russian Federation Norma Pensado on the topic “Mexico-Russia economic relationship: a partnership in progress”.

In 2020, Mexico and Russia celebrated the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which were officially established on December 11, 1890. Despite the many differences as well as the huge distances separating Mexico and Russia, there have been similar episodes in the history of the two countries. As a result, having switched almost simultaneously to new models of economic and political development by the end of the 20th century, by 2021 Russia and Mexico turned into countries of comparable importance in their regions.

At the present scientific seminar, we had the opportunity to hear the speech of the Ambassador of Mexico to the Russian Federation Norma Pensado who gave a lecture on the specifics and prospects of the development of trade and economic relations between Mexico and the Russian Federation at the present stage.

Ekaterina Kosevich, Research Fellow of the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of HSE University, was a discussant at the meeting.

The seminar was held in Spanish with simultaneous translation into Russian.
