Article by Ekaterina Kosevich on the place of Latin America in Russian foreign policy
The authoritative journal Latin American Perspectives, USA (National Research University Higher School of Economics, Scopus Q1/Q2) published the article “Russian Foreign Policy in Latin America and the Caribbean in the Twenty-first Century” by Ekaterina Kosevich, PhD in Political Science, Senior Researcher of the International Laboratory for World Order and New Regionalism Studies and Associate Professor of International Relations.
The article presents an analysis of the main directions of cooperation between Russia and Latin America: political dialogue, cooperation in the spheres of defense and security, trade relations and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The author concludes that the Latin American vector has never been strengthened in the foreign policy course of modern Russia, which makes it uncompetitive in the context of the expanding influence of other extra-regional players in this region.
