An open lecture by Nandan Unnikrishnan took place on October 9

On October 9, a public lecture was held by Nandan Unnikrishnan, head of the Eurasian studies program at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, organized by the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism. Professor spoke about relations between Russia and India in the strategic uncertainty context.

In addition to domestic political specifics, the external context of building relations with India is worth taking into account. Among its aspects, Nandan Unnikrishnan highlights the strengthening of China amid the ongoing confrontations between India - China and India - Pakistan, as well as the shift in the focus of Indian policy towards the United States. The latter, however, does not mean a break in India-Russia relationships due to the remaining common economic and political interests, as well as the established interdependence of the two states. The volume of mutual trade between Russia and India has increased almost 4 times in 2022, mainly due to Russian oil. Another promising area of cooperation is nuclear energy, which is especially relevant due to the global climate regulation trend.
