“The world is in pre-war state”
Faced with a crisis, the Russian authorities are trying to convince their people that all of Russia’s troubles come from abroad, but its main battles are also won there. Sergei Karaganov, Dean of the School of World Economics and International Affairs at the National Research University—Higher School of Economics, in an interview to The New Times offers his proof of why Russia can boast of very tangible and palpable victories on the international stage. The country is fighting for its security and sovereignty, but at the same time he admits that Russia has had “splendid economic failures.”
