Anastasia Likhacheva, Dean of the Faculty, spoke as an expert at the BRICS Plus Roundtable on the North-South International Transport Corridor. The participants of the Roundtable discussed the project of the North-South International Transport Corridor (NSC), one of the most promising projects for the development of regional economies within the BRICS framework. The key issues included the prospects for cooperation on the development of the ITC in connection with the accession of new member countries to BRICS, the role of the North-South ITC in shaping the food, energy and environmental security of the new BRICS, as well as measures to eliminate bottlenecks in the transport corridor.
Also on June 7, the session “Russia - India” was held, during which experts discussed the main directions for strengthening interaction between the two countries both at the level of governments and regions, and at the level of business communities. According to Anastasia Likhacheva, Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the HSE University, the session analyzed more than 50 laws and national programs on each side and highlighted 5 key areas of interaction: complex digital technologies, advanced space, nuclear technologies in energy, industrial biotech, and cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.
Sergey Karaganov, Distinguished Professor of the HSE University and Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, moderated the plenary session of SPIEF-2024.
The session was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bolivian President Luis Arce and Zimbabwean leader Emmerson Mnangagwa.
