China and India: Global Powers of Asia

On April 15, 2025, as part of the Oriental Studies section of the XXV Anniversary Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, a session titled “China and India: Global Powers of Asia” was held. The session was organized by the School of Regional Studies at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University.

The session was moderated by S. Luzyanin, Professor at the School of Regional Studies, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University.

The following scholars delivered presentations during the session:

  • P. Kuznetsov (Institute of China and Contemporary Asia, Russian Academy of Sciences),
  • A. Volodin (INION RAS),
  • O. Volosyuk (HSE University),
  • A. Borzova (Peoples' Friendship University of Russia – RUDN),
  • I. Kozylov (HSE University),
  • I. Kolgushkina (Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, RAS),
  • S. Luzyanin (HSE University).

The role of lead discussant was taken by O. Solodkova, Visiting Lecturer at the School of Regional Studies, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University. Her expert commentary played a key role in the discussion. The session drew considerable interest from participants and served as a valuable platform for in-depth analysis of the evolving roles of China and India in shaping the architecture of contemporary Asia.
