Professor Andrej Krickovic Participates in World Economic Forum and UC Berkeley Workshop on Cybersecurity

Faculty of World Economy Professor and Senior Researcher of the HSE Lab on The Study of International Order and the New Regionalism Andrej Krickovic participated in the workshop “Cyber Security Futures in A Global Context” organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the UC Berkeley Center on Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTS) in Munich May 23-24, 2018.

The workshop brought together academics and experts from Europe to develop a European perspective on potential technological game changers such as Quantum Computing, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The workshop, led by Prof. Steven Weber of the UC Berkeley School of Information Sciences, not only explored the ways that these technologies could impact economics and geopolitics, but also their ability to fundamentally transform the very fabric of social and interpersonal relations. The event was part of a series of workshops in the US, Europe and Asia that the WEF and the CLTS are organizing in preparation for a public report, which will be try to prepare world leaders and decision makers to deal with the unforeseen challenges a rapidly changing IT landscape will present in the years ahead.
