Faculty Ambassador Shlykova Yulia performed at the “Gymnasium №3” (Perm)

Our student of the bachelor’s programme “International Bachelor's Programme in World Politics” within the framework of the project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs 2021-2022” returned to her native school to tell future applicants about the features of studying at the Higher School of Economics and the advantages of the chosen trajectory, as well as to support high school students before the upcoming exams.

The student graduated from the “Gymnasium №3” in Perm in 2021. The desire to talk about studying at the Higher School of Economics, the benefits of studying at our faculty and passing on the experience of mastering in a new environment to the younger generation led her to the project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs”.

The student performed at school on May 12, 2022 in front of 11th grade students. The high school students asked a lot of questions, the most popular of them:

  • Is it possible to enter the OP "International Program on World Politics" with basic mathematics?
  • What is the minimum score threshold for admission?
  • Is there an introductory interview?
  • Do senior courses help with development in a new place?

The student describes her experience as an ambassador as follows: “In my own gymnasium, I was warmly welcomed by teachers and high school students. Students were interested in the subjects required for admission, the amount of time it takes to master them, as well as the difficulties that they will expect in the first year of study. As an ambassador, I tried to pass on all the accumulated experience to future applicants. The high school students were enthusiastic about my lecture, imbued with the spirit of HSE, and I think I saw a twinkle in their eyes with the hope of entering the university of my dreams.”

The project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs 2021-2022” is being implemented by the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs under the guidance of Deputy Dean for Admissions and Alumni Relations Anna V. Zhikhareva.
