Dean of Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs Anastasia Likhacheva participated in the session "Legal Framework for the Development of the Arctic in the Context of Global Changes" of the 10th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Key conclusions of the session:

  • Socially responsible business plays a big role in the development of the Arctic;
  • An integrated approach to the development of regions based on scientific data is needed;
  • It is planned to create living conditions similar to those in Central Russia;
  • The comprehensive program of the Russian chairmanship involves the promotion of international cooperation in such priority areas as the population of the Arctic, including indigenous peoples, environmental protection, socio-economic development, as well as the strengthening of Arctic cooperation.
