Joint session of PhD students of Dalian University of Foreign Languages and HSE University at the V International Conference "The World Majority in new Realities: Regional dimension”
It was opened by the professor, Deputy Head, School of International Affairs, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, Evgeny Kanaev (Russia) and associate professor, secretary of the Party branch, Institute of Eurasian Studies, Dalian University of Foreign Languages Liang Xiaonan (PRC). Representatives of the universities underline the special importance of the meeting, which is aimed at exchanging views and finding new ideas for the students' research.
During the meeting, Dalian University PhD students presented the following topics: Liu Mengyao,Metaphors in Bob Dylan's Poetry：Motivation Model Pragmatics; Li Chenchao, A Contrastive Study of Higher Foreign Language Education Policies in China, the United States, and Japan from the Perspective of National Interests; Liu Yafeng, A Study on the Strategies of Quotations in Chinese Diplomatic Speeches from the Perspective of the Model of Motivational Pragmatics.
From the Higher School of Economics the following presented their reports: Alexandra Yankova, The role of developing countries in promoting the Chinese vision of cyber sovereignty; Ilya Kozylov, China and Spain: Strategic Partnership in the 21st Century; Ilia Kolnin, Transformation of perception of Zheng He and his voyages (1405-1433) in Ming, Qing and 20-21st century China; Lolita Koroleva, The Third Belt and Road Forum and its significance for the EU.
The meeting ended with a active discussion on the presented reports. Participants expressed interest in continuing such meetings.
