On the 8th April of 2023, an international student online conference was held, where Russian and Iranian students presented their research conducted within the framework of the project “Iranian foreign policy: the potential of Iran’s cooperation with Russia” under the guidance of Dr. Mehdi Sanaei, digital professor of the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, professor of the University of Tehran, director of the Institute for Iran-Eurasia Studies (IRAS), and Elmira Imamkulieva, coordinator of student project activities, senior lecturer at the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University. Kseniia Kozina, 3rd year student of International Affairs, was the moderator of the discussion.
Russian side was represented by the students of such educational programs as International Affairs, Asian and African Studies, World Economy, History of Art, and Urban Planning. During the project they prepared for the conference and attended Dr. Sanaei’s lections dedicated to the peculiarities of the Iranian foreign policy with an accent on the country’s relations with Russia.
Participants presented their research and discussed various aspects of Russian-Iranian relations. The focus was on the military-technical cooperation, cooperation in the energy sector, cultural and economic ties of Iran and Russia, and the historic evolution of their relations. Moreover, the topics of their cooperation on the international arena and in the Middle East were brought up.
The best articles of the participants were recommended for publication.
