Session “Consolidation or Fragmentation of the “World Majority”? Experience of Southeast Asia” of the 5th International Conference “The World Majority in New Realities: Regional Dimension”

The section took place on the first day of the conference.

The participants of the Session “Consolidation or Fragmentation of the “World Majority”? Experience of Southeast Asia” focused on topics:

  • The ASEAN Community Project 2025: should we expect an extension?
  • ASEAN-centric multilateral dialogue: maintaining or losing relevance to the region and the world?
  • ASEAN and its dialogue partners in the face of escalating international tensions.

In presentations made by Ekaterina Astafieva “ASEAN Countries and the Palestine-Israeli Conflict (2023)”, by Nikita Kuklin “Indonesia's Factor in ASEAN Dialogue Partnerships with Australia and New Zealand”, by Ilya Vinogradov “Strategic Cooperation between China and Thailand: A Belt and Road Perspective”, by Aisylu Garaeva “ASEAN in the ROK's Current Policy”, by Evgeny Kanaev and Dmitry Fedorenko “ASEAN Smart Cities Network: Singapore's Priorities and Policy” many of these questions were explored in detail.
