Faculty Ambassador Kapyshkina Sofia performed at the school named after I.P. Svetlova (Moscow region)

Our student of the bachelor’s programme “Asian and African Studies” within the framework of the project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs 2021-2022” returned to her school to tell high school students about choosing a university, the benefits of studying at the faculty, and also about the opportunities that open up for HSE students

Sofya graduated from the school named after I.P. Svetlova in 2021. She was led to the project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs 2021-2022” by the desire to share her experience of admission with future applicants, to tell what difficulties one might encounter during training, and how to choose the right educational programme. Sofia told the high school students that nothing is impossible, motivated them to study hard, not be afraid of difficulties and go towards the intended goal. The school was happy to accept the graduate and help with the implementation of the presentation of the project.

The student performed at school on March 28, 2022 in front of students in grades 8-11. The high school students listened with interest to the relevant information for them. After the presentation, the guys received handouts and asked a few questions:

  1. How difficult is it to study at HSE?
  2. What is the "rating system" and discounts?
  3. How to get an internship?

Also, questions were asked about the subjects of the general cycle, about the minors and the complexity of the subjects in English.

Sofia spoke about her impressions of the meeting: “I was very happy to return to the walls of my beloved school, to see high school students and teachers. It was a great honor for me, as an HSE student, to tell the guys about my university, faculty, and educational programme. I understand how difficult it is to take final exams, so it was very important for me to support the high school students. I was pleased to see the “fire“ in their eyes and interest in the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. I really hope that I inspired the guys and helped them decide on their future specialization.”

The project “Ambassadors of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs 2021-2022” is being implemented by the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs under the guidance of Deputy Dean for Admissions and Alumni Relations Anna V. Zhikhareva
