Experts of the CIA took part in the Rossotrudnichestvo round table on food security

On October 31, 2023, the round table “Russian contribution to food security in Africa” was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo. The HSE Center’s experts, Vsevolod Sviridov and Andrey Shelkovnikov, participated in it.

During the discussion, representatives of the Center, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, “PhosAgro”, the Russian Export Center, AfroCom and a number of other organizations discussed the experience of implementation of Russian-African educational and humanitarian projects in the field of food security.

Expert Vsevolod Sviridov noted that Russian exporters need to shift from extensive to intensive growth with the state support, as the first model of doing business is gradually becoming obsolete. Achieving this goal requires initiatives of a qualitatively new level: knowledge and technology transfer, targeted training, and investment in storage and distribution infrastructure.
