Center’s Delegation met with Tafara Matekaire, Secretary of the Office of the President and Cabinet e-Government Technology Unit of the Administration of the Zimbabwean President

On 30 July 2024, Andrey Maslov, Director of the Centre for African Studies, and Deputy Director, Vsevolod Sviridov, discussed the prospects of Russia-Zimbabwe cooperation in the field of e-Governance with Tafara Matekaire. Mr. Matekaire highly appreciated the results of theWinter E-Governance Knowledge Sharing Week, held in December 2023 at the HSE in Moscow. The project was launched within thee-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program.

Mr. Matekaire expressed hope for the continuation of the Program and assured that the Zimbabwean official would be glad to take part in it further.

Among the topics for discussion were cooperation in the field of AI and big data processing (including biometrics), as well as improving electronic systems for monitoring the performance of civil servants and expanding access to mobile communications.
