On April 29-30, the first meeting of the Russian-Central African working group on cooperation in the field of geology and subsoil use took place in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. Nikita Panin, an expert of the HSE Center for African Studies, took part in the event as part of the delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia.
From April 7-9, 2026, Africa’s largest tech and startup exhibition, GITEX Africa, took place in Marrakech, Morocco. The delegation of the HSE Center for African Studies participated in the event, and presented the e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program.
On March 16, 2026, the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Namibian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Windhoek, Namibia. Director Andrey Maslov participated in the event on behalf of the HSE Center for African Studies.
Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies took part in the session «The Policy of Leading Extra-Regional Actors in the Sahel» of the expert roundtable of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). The event on the topic «The Alliance of Sahel States: Security and Development» was held on February 12, 2026, and focused on the issue of regional security and the terrorist threat to the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) countries, as well as the policies of various foreign powers in the region.
On February 6, 2026, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) hosted a round table on the topic "Horn of Africa countries in the focus of interests of regional and global players." Andrey Maslov, Director of the Center, and expert Andrey Shelkovnikov took part in the event.
From January 19 to 23, 2026, the 9th Tanzania Annual ICT Conference (TAIC-2025) took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The event was organized by the Program’s partner, the ICT Commission of Tanzania. Andrey Maslov, Director of the HSE Center for African Studies and coordinator of the e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program, spoke on the 4th day of the Conference.
The delegation of the HSE Center for African Studies participated in the preliminary event of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum on December 19, 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. The event was organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD).
On November 20, 2025, the HSE Centre for African Studies organized a roundtable discussion on «The Potential of Digital Solutions for Ensuring Food Sovereignty» as part of the International Conference on African Countries Food Sovereignty Ensuring in Addis Ababa, organized by Rossotrudnichestvo with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
On November 10, 2025, «Rossiya Segodnya» international media group discussed the results of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation's election observation mission in Tanzania. The Tanzanian elections took place on October 29, 2025. Andrey Maslov, Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, took part in the event alongside with the observation mission's participants.
On October 31, 2025, a roundtable discussion entitled «Africa-Russia. Joint Projects and Prospects: Geological, Economic and Social Factors» was held in St. Petersburg as part of the «Russian-African Raw Materials Dialogue» conference. The event, which focused on Russian-African cooperation in the field of using mineral resources and geological exploration, was organized by the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use (Rosnedra). Andrey Maslov, Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, moderated the roundtable.On October 31, 2025, a roundtable discussion entitled "Africa–Russia.
