Session «India as a Leading Power: Foreign Policy Initiatives and Priorities»

On April 10, the session «India as a leading Power: Foreign policy initiatives and priorities» was held in an online format within the framework of the section «Oriental Studies» (heads: Dr. O.V. Volosyuk, Dr. T.V. Bordachev, Dr. A.N. Karneev). The moderator of the session was Dr. Olga Kharina, Research Fellow in the School of International Regional Studies.

Session «India as a Leading Power: Foreign Policy Initiatives and Priorities»

 

Dr. Alexey Zakharov, Research Fellow at the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism, Dr. K.M. Sethi, a Professor at Mahatma Gandhi University, and Andrey Dobritsyn, a master's student of the program "Socio-Economic and Political Development of Modern Asia", made presentations.

There are a lot of questions like opportunities for cooperation between India and Latin American countries, problems and prospects of cooperation between India and Russia in the field of nuclear energy, as well as the position of the "Global South", which is becoming increasingly important in the world economy, of which India is directly a part, were discussed during the session.

The session was accompanied by questions and a lively discussion.
