Registration for the lecture by the Chairman of the African Chamber of Energy is open

Registration is now open for the lecture “African Energy Agenda: Prospects and Challenges” by the Chairman of the African Energy Chamber Nj Ayuk.

The lecture is organized by the Center for African Studies within its educational "Africa" track and with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. The event will take place on March 31, 2025 at 19:00, in the White Hall in the HSE building at 11 Pokrovsky Boulevard. 

During the lecture, Nj will provide an overview of the development of the energy sector in African countries, share his professional experience in this area, and highlight the role of international initiatives for the energy transformation. 

Please note that the event will be fully in English. 

After the lecture, the chapter “African resources to African markets: making mining and energy work for Africa” from the expert-analytical publication “Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges” will be discussed.

The African Energy Chamber is an energy organization based in South Africa and founded in 2018. It focuses on legal issues in the energy sector.

Its key objective is to attract investment and economic empowerment of African people by eliminating energy poverty. It also serves as a platform for bringing willing governments and creadible businesses together to continuing growth of the African energy sector under international standard business practices.

Since 2018, the Chairman of the African Energy Chamber is Nj Ayuk, a Cameroonian attorney, author, and businessman. 

In 2004, he received a Juris Doctor degree at William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the United States. After that, he worked for the United Nations Development Programme and advised major companies and governments on energy issues. Mr. Ayuk is also the founder of Centurion Law Group (CLG), which is a Pan-African law firm that operates in the energy, financial, and extractive sectors. 

Mr. Ayuk was listed in Forbes' Top 10 Most Influential Men in Africa. In 2023, he was also named as one of the 100 Most Reputable Africans by Reputation Poll International.

Apart from business consulting, Nj is also the author of the bestselling books "Big Barrels", "Billions at Play: The Future of African Energy and Doing Deals", and "A Just Transition: Making Energy Poverty History with an Energy Mix".
