On January 26, 2025,  HSE Center for African Studies met with the  National School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Intelligence Artificielle) in Algiers.

Andrey Maslov, Director of the Center for African Studies, took part at the round table «Chad after the elections: political situation, threats to stability and development prospects» organized by the Russian news agency «African Initiative».

From December 22 to 25, 2024, the director of the Center for African Studies, Andrey Maslov, Deputy Coordinator of the E-Governance Knowledge-Sharing Program, Phillip Grinin, and UNECA’s research consultant, Ophelia Amo, visited the city of Brazzaville at the invitation of Leon Juste Ibombo, Honorable Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and the Digital Economy of the Republic of Congo.

On December 20, 2024, the HSE center for African Studies visited the University of Gondar in Ethiopia to discuss potential areas for collaboration in the digital field.

Last week, December 10, the team of experts of theE-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program held a series of workshops in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

On November 22, 2024, experts of the Center for African Studies and participants to thee-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program took part in the 13th session of theAfrica Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF). The event was held at the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa from November 20 to 22, 2024 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The HSE University Centre for African Studies has presented an English-language expert-analytical handbook titled ‘Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges.’ For the first time, Russian experts have prepared a comprehensive work aimed at an African audience rather than Russian readers. The handbook incorporates a significant amount of new data and introduces new approaches for assessing development prospects. The presentation took place in Sochi on November 9, 2024, during the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum.

On November 9-10, the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum was held at Sirius University in Sochi.

The main focus of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) is on strengthening cooperation in the field of e-Governance in Africa.
