On April 7, 2025, Philip Grinin, an expert at the HSE Centre for African Studies, participated in the Moscow Export Center's online consultation for Russian companies planning to attend GITEX AFRICA 2025, a tech innovation exhibition, which will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on April 14-16, 2025. As a member of the Centre's delegation, Philip Grinin presented on the features of business negotiations with Moroccan partners.

On April 3, 2025, the regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus hosted an expert discussion “Food Security in Africa: Humanitarian Challenges and Possible Solutions”. Among the participants of the English-language event were officials and business representatives, international and academic organizations working in Africa. Andrey Maslov, Director of the Center for African Studies, made a report on food sovereignty issues.

On April 2, 2025, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted the seminar “The Policy of the Leading Non-Western States on the African Continent”. Among the participants were international specialists, Africanists, political scientists and historians studying African development issues.

The expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges by the Center for African Studies of the HSE University is available for review and download, as well as its individual chapters.

On March 10, 2025, the Federation Council hold a round table on “Current issues of  foreign economic relations between the Russian regions and African States,” which was attended by federal officials, representatives of the Russian subjects, and the expert community. On behalf of the Center for African Studies, Deputy Director Vsevolod Sviridov participated in the event.

On February 27, 2025, an expert seminar "Russian-African cooperation in education today: Challenges and Prospects" took place at the Russian Council on International Affairs (RIAC). Andrey Maslov, Director of the Center for African Studies, took part in the discussion of Russian education policy in Africa.

On February 25, 2025, the African Initiative News Agency organized an international expert round table on the topic "President Trump's African Policy: strategy, interests, consequences" at the Library for Foreign Literature in Moscow.

On January 30, 2025, the 12th Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Algerian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation took place in Algiers.
