From September 29 to October 3, 2025, Andrey Maslov, Director of the HSE Center for African Studies and Coordinator of the e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program, participated in the Russia-Africa Energy Summit  in Cape Town, South Africa. The event took place within the African Energy Week 2025 organized by the Centre’s partner, African Energy Chamber.

On September 30, 2025, Director of the HSE Centre for African Studies Andrey Maslovvisited the National School of Government (NSG) of the Republic South Africa.

On September 18, 2025, the International Technology Congress, a platform for the development of ICT exports, hosted the session “From Cairo to Cape Town: Prospects for the digital market in Africa”, organized by the Center for Global IT Cooperation in partnership with the RUSSOFT Association. An expert of the Center and Deputy Coordinator of the e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program Philip Grinin participated in the event.

On July 28-30, 2025, Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, as part of a delegation led by Sergei Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, to the countries of the Sahara-Sahel region — Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso.

The third edition of the expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges of the HSE Center for African Studies was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025).

On June 18, 2025, Andrey Maslov, Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, took part in the round table “Franchising in new realities: domestic and international formats. Prospects and opportunities for SMEs". The expert event, organized by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was held as part of the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), June 18-21, 2025

On June 17, 2025, an expert seminar “Africa's Energy Market: Development Trends and Challenges” was organized by the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, took part in the event.

The third edition of the expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges was prepared by the team of experts of the HSE Center for African Studies. The full version of the Handbook is published on the Center’s website.

A team of experts of the HSE Center for African Studies has prepared the third edition of the expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges. The foreword was written by Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria, mediator of the African Union, EAC and SADC. 

From May 26 to 30, 2025, Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, paid a working trip to Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, as part of a joint delegation from Sberbank and School 21 (Sberbank's educational project for training IT specialists).
