On July 28-30, 2025, Vsevolod Sviridov, Deputy Director of the HSE Center for African Studies, as part of a delegation led by Sergei Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, to the countries of the Sahara-Sahel region — Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso.

The third edition of the expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges of the HSE Center for African Studies was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025).

On June 19, 2025, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the HSE Univeristy and the African Energy Chamber (AEC), a leading organization in the field of African energy, signed a cooperation agreement. The AEC serves as an expert and communication platform for interaction between state agencies, companies and international organizations in order to strengthen the energy security of African countries.
