IX Chinese-Russian Summer School on International Relations "Detering Protectionism and Promoting Diversity in Changing Political Landscape", July 4-11, 2019

The School is organized by HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (Moscow) and East China Normal University (Shanghai). The event is supported by The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

The School is dedicated to the issues of global world order in the era of the U.S. protectionism revival and in the atmosphere of mistrust within the collective West towards a power shift to Asia, its influence both on the world order and different aspects of China-Russian relations.

The main focus of the School is the changing role and functions of international institutions of socio-economic development and security as well as the role of Russia and China in building a new world order, including the analysis of their global and regional initiatives and the roles of other actors such as the U.S., India and ASEAN countries.

During the School Russian and Chinese scholars and experts, representatives of state and international organizations, research institutes and companies dealing with international relations will meet the participants to discuss issues of global scale and share their views on the related issues. Besides, the participants are to conduct a joint research project within the School. They can also enhance their cooperation during the informal part of the Programme (excursions, cultural evenings).
