XII International Russian-Chinese Summer School

The Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” (HSE University) together with the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) of the HSE University launch the XII International Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations “Facets of the World Majority: Practice and Narratives”.

When and where?  The summer school will be held from July 1 to July 7, 2025 in Moscow.

To whom?  We accept applications from PhD and Masters students, specialising in world politics, international economics, international relations, political science or regional studies. The working language of the school is English.

Format of the School.  The Summer School consists of educational, practical and cultural blocks. The educational block includes lectures by leading Russian and Chinese experts. Within the practical block the participants will have an opportunity to create their own unique analytical project in teams. With the help of regular consultations, assistance in selection of cases and completing final individual assignments the participants will be able to apply their knowledge in practice. Cultural evenings and excursions for Russian and Chinese participants will be a part of the cultural block.

Advantages of the School.  The International Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations has been held since 2011. During this time the School gathered together more than 300 participants worldwide, contributing to the academic and cultural exchange within the professional community. The school aims to create an unified educational space that combines diversified knowledge of highly qualified specialists from Russia and China. The goal is to acquire systemic knowledge by young specialists and professionals about the peculiarities of economic, institutional, and strategic aspects of the new world order. 

XII Russian-Chinese Summer School is devoted to the concept of the world majority and its characteristics along with the key actors among the countries. Experts from the leading universities and research institutions will meet with the participants to discuss the ongoing global changes in the political, economic, and digital spheres, as well as challenges in front of the world majority.

Knowledge of Chinese language is not obligatory, but it will give an advantage in the selection process;
