X International Russian-Chinese Summer School has started

On November, 19 the X International Russian-Chinese School on International Relations has officially opened. The event is held at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. Although the School is held online this year, as well as the most of events this time, the atmosphere has been quite celebratory.

During the opening ceremony the participants were welcomed by Sergey Karaganov (Dean and Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs), Feng Shaolei (Director of Centre for Russian Studies, East China Normal University, ECNU) and Timofey Bordachev (Academic Supervisor of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies, HSE).

Then, Sergey Karaganov has given a lecture “No Order in the Foreseeable Future. But Some Trends Are Becoming Visible” in which has shared his insights on what main features of the upcoming new world order we can witness now.

After the lecture the participants proceeded to a teambuilding session where they had opportunity to know more about each other beyond their research interests. Till the end of the School the participants would be working on international research projects and give a final presentation on the last day of the School. The participants have been divided into 8 research groups according to the following research topics

During the group discussions, participants have shared their hobbies, travelling stories, feelings from the pandemic conditions and expectations from the School.

Tomorrow participants will hear the lecture from Feng Shaolei and Jin Jiyong, World Health Organization Expert, Deputy Dean of the School of International and Public Relations, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).

Such an interesting week is coming up!
