On Monday, 6^th of April fourth online seminar with was conducted as a part of the joint project of the Russian Middle East Association and the School of International Regional Studies of HSE University. The main speaker was Hany Soliman Kerba, Manager of Arab Center for Research and Studies (Cairo, ARE), who presented the topic “COVID-19: International Approach and “Egyptian Battle” against Pandemic”.

On Wednesday, 1st of April, in the framework of the joint project of the Russian Middle East Association and the School of International Regional Studies of HSE University, Naseem Khan Achakzai, Executive Director of Bolan Development and Policy Research Institute and Executive Director of the Center for Sustainability Research and Practice, the University of Lahore and his colleague, Hameed Khan gave the speech on two important issues: China’s increasing influence during the pandemic in South Asia and the peace process in Afghanistan and the changing priorities during the pandemic.

On Tuesday, 31th of March second online meeting with an international expert as a part of the joint project of the Russian Middle East Association and the School of International Regional Studies of HSE University was held.
This time Dr. Waqar Rizvi, Pakistani-Canadian broadcast journalist, TV presenter & political analyst discussed one of the most pressing issues in the Middle East, COVID-19 in Pakistan: Domestic & Foreign Priorities.

On Friday, 27th of March as a part of the joint project of the School of International Regional Studies of HSE University and the Russian Middle East Association the online meeting with Dr. Imad Rizk, Director of Institute for Strategic and Communication Studies in Lebanon (Isticharia-ISCS) was held on the topic “The Middle East after “Corona”: The Future of Syria, Libya, and Yemen in Balance of Regional Powers – Turkey, Iran & Israel”.

On March 10, Andrei Baklanov, Professor, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Studies Section, School of International Regional Studies, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, National Research University Higher School of Economics, 1st Class State Counselor of the Russian Federation, former Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Assistant Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats held an open meeting. 

On 5 March within the framework of the "Middle East Meetings" - a joint project of the Russian Middle East Association and the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and World Policy of the National Research University Higher School of Economics - an open meeting was held on the subject: "Idlib stumbling block" in the relations between Russia and Turkey".

On March 3, Masumova Nigar, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of World Economy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave an open lecture on “Russian-Turkish economic relations in the context of new geopolitical realities”.

A round table in memory of a famous scientist, economist, orientalist Leonid Fridman “Developed and developing countries in the world economic space” was held on February 7.

On January 30, Farhad Ibrahimov, Head of the Head of the Iranian Studies Center at the Russian Middle East Association, an expert of IDC “Valdai”, held an open lecture on “Iran's relations with regional actors after the assassination of Kasem Suleimani”.

On January 30, Karamurzov Renat PhD, Professor of the of the Department of Economics and Economic Geography of Asia and Africa, Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University (IAAS MSU) gave an open lecture on “The problem of multi-variant international economic comparisons based on PPP currencies on the example of the countries of the Greater Middle East”.
