The paper is the outcome of the student research project “Doing Business in Asia-Pacific in the Age of Digital Transformations” (2020/21 academic year). The research was carried out at the School of International Regional Studies under the supervision of the SIRS professor Evgeny Kanaev.
On September 4, 2021, the paper was presented at the Eastern Economic Forum.
On June 1, 2021 the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of the permanent online seminars «Contemporary Area Studies», organized a meeting with Suku Bhaskaran, Professor, PhD Monash University. On May 25, 2021 the final international on-line conference within the framework of the international student research project "Youth Aspirations in regional studies: Economics and law of the European Union and its member States" was held in the format of the Zoom conference.
On May 27, June 9, and June 16, 2021, the final examination of the works within the framework of the «Student International Russian-Czech scientific and applied project on Marketing Management of International Trade», implemented by the School of International Regional Studies HSE University under the supervision of the head of the School of International Regional Studies Vera Vishnyakova, and a Russian postdoc of School of International Regional Studies Irina Strelnikova in collaboration with the University of Finance and Administration (Prague), was held in the format of the Teams conference.
On May 21, 2021 the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of the permanent online seminars «Contemporary Area Studies», organized a meeting with with D. Alexander Lopatin. The topic was «India-the 'garage' of the Fourth Industrial Revolution»
On April 20, 2021, within the framework of the permanent online project "It's worth talking about", a regular online meeting was held with Andrey Glebovich Baklanov, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Studies Sector of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics of the Higher School of Economics, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Ambassador. The topic of the meeting was: "Problems of the Straits– will there be a further aggravation of the situation?"
On April 22, 2021 the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of permanent online seminar «Contemporary area studies» organized the meeting with with Candidate of Social Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Oriental Studies and Regional Studies of the Asia-Pacific Region of Irkutsk State University, head of the Master's program «Regional Studies and Ethnology of the Asia-Pacific countries» Dr. Evgeny Kremnev. The topic of the meeting: «Transdisciplinarity as a new paradigm in regionology».

On April, 15, 2021 The School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University together with the Russian Middle East Association, Provincial Youth Assembly Pakistan and Kateb Educational and Cultural Association in Russian Federation hold a round table “The Role of Youth in Achieving the 17 UN SDGs: Afghanistan – Egypt – Pakistan – Russia”.
