On Wednesday, July 24, the nineteenth online meeting of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University closed the season of expert seminars with the lecture of Ghoncheh Tazmini, visiting fellow of the Middle East Center, LSE on the issue of “The Parameters of Russian-Iranian Partnership in the Middle East”.
On Tuesday, June 23, within the framework of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, a lecture on “The Prospects for Trade and Economic Cooperation between Russia and the GCC Countries at the Present Stage” was delivered by Dr. Abdullah Valid Latif, Associate Professor of Baghdad University.
On Thursday, June 18, Hamid Ait El Caid, Moroccan Independent Political Analyst presented the topic “Morocco’s response to COVID-19: Challenges and Prospects” within the framework of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University. The meeting was organized and moderated by Professor Vera Vishnyakova, Head of the HSE School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.
On Saturday, May 30, within the framework of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University Argun Başkan, Doctor Lecturer, Department of International Relations, Ege University, Turkey presented the topic “Turkey and the Challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
On Thursday, May 28, within the framework of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University a well-known Pakistani social scientist, book critic and translator Raza Naeem presented a lecture «Coronavirus and Its Discontents: National and Global Ramifications and the Way Forward».
On Wednesday, May 27, within the framework of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organised by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, Ksenia Svetlova, MP of the 20th convocation of the Israeli Knesset, orientalist and expert of Herzliya interdisciplinary center delivered a lecture “COVID-19 in Israel”.
On Thursday, May 20, an international roundtable discussion “Russia-Indonesia Partnership: Strategic Objectives of Development in the New International Environment” was held. The event was co-organized by School of International Regional Studies, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs NRU HSE and Center for Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences.
On Friday, 22nd of May thirteenth expert meeting was held in the framework of the online project of the School of International Regional Studies of HSE University. The invited expert Yonatan Freeman, Professor of the Department of Political Sciences, Hebrew University, Jerusalem presented the topic “The US-China-Russia triangle, how did the trade war become an information war?”.
On May 15, as part of the on-line seminars “Contemporary Area Studies” organized by School of International Regional Studies, Dr. Trung Xuan Hoang, a research fellow of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, made a presentation entitled “Vietnam’s Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
On Thursday, May 14, the regular online seminar was held as part of the project “Contemporary Area Studies” organized by the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University. This time, a lecture “India as a Great Power” was delivered by Sergey Ivanovich Lunev, professor at the HSE Department of World Economy and International Affairs, professor at the Department of Oriental Studies, Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
