Within the framework of the project “National Idea/Identity of the “Western” East: Japan”, head of the project, Professor of the School of International Regional Studies of theFaculty of World Economy & International Affairs of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Galina Nikiporets-Takigawa (hereinafter: GNT) was invited in Tokyo as an expert for a special edition of the program of one of the three most prominent in Japan opposition politicians and independent political analysts who, even before the start of the Ukrainian conflict, suggestedits alternative to the mainstream interpretation, Yukihisa Oikawa (YO in the interview script below), answering the questions about the prospects of the Japan-Russia relations.

On March 16, 2023, the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of the permanent online seminars «Contemporary Area Studies», with the support of the Russian Middle East Association, organized the 63th online seminar with a researcher at the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Grigory Lukyanov.

Within the framework of the International Youth Dialogue “Voice of the Future”, a project implemented by the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University, with the support of the Russian Middle East Association, the fourth international online round table “Challenges for young people in today's realities” was held.

The School of Regional Studies (SRS) congratulates Sergey Luzyanin, Andrey Baklanov and Evgeny Kanaev for diligent and perfect work, as well as on the occasion of HSE University’s 30^th anniversary! 

Dr. Olga Solodkova and Dr. Olga Kharina participated in the Festival within the framework of the Indian line and organized a number of events dedicated to India.

On January 31, 2023, the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of the permanent online seminars «Contemporary Area Studies», with the support of the Russian Middle East Association, organized the 61^st online seminar with Dr. Igbal Guliev, Deputy Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO University, author of Telegram-channel  IG Energy.

Lev Sokolshchik, an associate professor of the School of International Regional Studies and research fellow of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS), as an invited expert and advisor of the international research group participated in the Boot Camp of the Arms Control Negotiations Academy (ACONA). The event held from January 09 to 13 in the online format. 

On December 21, 2022, the School of Regional Studies of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University held a roundtable discussion on “2022 Outcomes: Turkey, Iran, Central Asian Countries: Growing Potential of Influence”.

On December 19, within the framework of the online project “It's worth talking about”, another online seminar was held with Dr. Andrey Baklanov, Professor, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Studies Section, School of Regional Studies, HSE University, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats. The primary guest for this seminar was a Dr. Sergey Luzyanin, Professor School of Regional Studies, HSE University.

The final session of the IV International Conference “The World Majority in Contemporary International Realities: From Fragmentation to the New Institution” on December 2, 2022 was focused on the discussion of the relationship between the internationalpolitical changes and domestic political processes in the Western countries at the present stage. Section «End of Big Europe» was organized together with colleagues from the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The scientific head of the Faculty of World Economy and international Affairs, HSE University Dr. Sergey Karaganov took part in the work of the section.
