On May 22-23, the VII Scientific Student Conference of the School of Oriental Studies "Eastern Perspective" was held. Students of the educational program "Socio-economic and political development of modern Asia" took part in the round table "East-West: politics, economics, society" in English and won prizes.

On Tuesday, 12 May 2020, the International Laboratory on World Order Studies, Department of International Relations and the New Regionalism and the School of Oriental Studies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics held a joint session of Eurasian Online Seminar and China Seminar. Our speaker was a renowned Chinese expert in international affairs Professor Yang Jiemian. The topic of his talk is "Post-Pandemic World Order and Major Power Relations".

On Friday, 8 May 2020, the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism and Department of International Relations of the National Research University Higher School of Economics were delighted to host a world-renowned authority on international relations Professor Barry Buzan. The topic of his talk was "Deparochialising IR: Benchmark Dates from a Global Military Perspective".

On Thursday, May 7, the Department of International Relations and the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of National Research University Higher School of Economics held the 6th session of the Eurasian Online Seminar with a renown Singaporean diplomat and scholar Bilahari Kausikan. The topic of his talk was “South East Asia after the Pandemic”.
On May 6, 2020, an online lecture was held with the participation of the head of the Department of International Relations and the International Laboratory for World Order Studies and New Regionalism Professor Alexander Lukin and the research assistant Olga Puzanova at the John Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University with a professor Ezra Vogel. The lecture was dedicated to the Sino-Russian territorial dispute settlement.
On Wednesday, May 6, the Department of International Relations and the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism of National Research University Higher School of Economics together with the Oriental Studies School held the joint session of the Eurasian Online Seminar and China Seminar with a renowned expert on Chinese foreign policy Dr Bates Gill. The topic of his talk was “Wolf Warrior Diplomacy”: Is it Working for China?
