The FinReg (Financial Regulation) blog, hosted on the website of Duke University, published an article authored by Eduard Dzhagityan, Associate Professor of the School of World Economy, HSE, entitled: “Financial Stability Needs Macro-Financial Regulation of Banking M&A.”
Postdoc at the International Laboratory on World Order Studies and the New Regionalism, Ekaterina Kosevich, a specialist in Latin America, won a competition for financial support for the preparation and publication of scientific review articles, announced by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), within the framework of which a review article "Cybersecurity Strategies of Latin America" will be published in the Russian scientific journal "IBEROAMÉRICA" in 2020. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the fact that the article for the first time in Russian Latin American studies provides an overview of national cybersecurity strategies, which to date have been approved only in six countries of this region.
On October 28 the presidential decree awarded the honorary title of "Honored economist of the Russian Federation" to the head of the academic Council of the educational program “International trade policy”, Maxim Medvedkov, "for merits in the field of Economics and long-term conscientious work".

On Friday, October 25, an open lecture by the French professor Thomann on the topic “Prospects for building a new security in Europe” was organized at the Higher School of Economics. Professor Thomann is the president and founder of the “Eurocontinent” international organization specializing in geopolitical analysis of the EU and Eurasia, as well as an expert in the field of geopolitical problems and development patterns of the EU, Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

On October 10, HSE experts organized a session on “Multilateralism - Expectations from the new generation” within the framework of the WTO Public Forum 2019 held in Geneva from October 8 to 11. During the session, the prospects for regulating international trade and the need for the WTO reforms were discussed.
