On November 19-20, 2014 HSE hosted a conference on Global Governance: Nominal, Real and Alternative Structures. The conference was largely focused on the paradigm shift in geopolitical and geoeconomic structures of the modern world, as well as the underlying causes and long-term implications of such changes.

The sixth ‘New View’ conference for junior Japan experts has come to an end. The conference was organized by HSE’s School of Asian Studies together with the Japanese culture division of the Margarita Rudomino All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature (Japan Foundation) and the Association of Japanese Studies.
On June, 18, 2013 Daisuke Kotegawa, Research Director, Canon Institute for Global Studies, former Executive Director for Japan, IMF gave a lecture “Latest Developments of The World Economy” to students and teachers at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs on financial crisis in Japan, Cyprus and overview of global economy.
Кen Jimbo, Professor at the Keio University (Japan), spoke on ‘2030 Strategic Trends in Asia-Pacific: Implication for Japan-Russia Relations’ at a roundtable discussion at the HSE. The event has been organized by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.
This year, cooperation between HSE and East China Normal University in Shanghai has reached a new level, with a first exchange programme for Russian and Chinese teachers launched at HSE. Timofey Bordachev, Director of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of World Economy and Politics, speaks about the Russia-China academic cooperation programme and its prospects.

On 11-13 December 2012, the first meetings of the Russian G20 Presidency were held in Moscow. They included the Think 20, Business 20 and Civil 20 Meetings, the inaugural G20 Sherpas’ Meeting and the ‘Fostering Economic Growth and Sustainability’ conference.
