From October 14 to October 22, 2017, the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students was held, which had representatives from all subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as delegates from more than 180 countries around the world, with the total number of participants passing the mark of 20,000, not to mention more than 5000 people volunteers. The festival was also attended by 3 students of m "Socioeconomic And Political Development Of Modern Asia" HSE: Anna Sidorova, Nina Merten and Roman Fainshmidt.

The comment of Roman Fainshmidt, student of the 'Socioeconomic and Political Development of Modern Asia' master's program, was published in the official internet site of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) being titled 'Asian card of Trump' and relating to Trump's tour to Asia and its results.

The 2017 HSE Alumni Awards will shortly be open for nominations. The awards were founded in 2007 to recognise HSE graduates who have achieved professional success in the corporate sphere or their own businesses. Over the years, the winners have included Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Economic Development, Ilya Azar and Tonia Samsonova, journalists, Ksenia Mokrushina, Director of the Centre of Urban Studies at Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, and Vladimir Potapov, CEO at VTB Capital, among others.
