International Dialogue and New Approaches: Highlights from Fudan University’s Summer School
At the beginning of July 2026, students from the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs took part in the Summer School on International Relations organised by Fudan University (China), one of the leading international educational programmes in this field. Over the course of two weeks, they explored contemporary approaches to global governance and the development of the Global South, attended lectures by renowned scholars from around the world, and discussed current international issues with fellow students from across the globe.

WEIA Faculty and East-China Normal University are launching joint academic supervision of doctoral dissertation research
In July 2026, the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (WEIA) of HSE University and East-China Normal University (ECNU) signed an Agreement for Doctoral Dissertation Co-supervision and Defense. The Agreement heralds a new stage in the partnership between WEIA Faculty and ECNU, which harkens back to the 2013 Agreement on student exchange. Since then, cooperation between WEIA Faculty and ECNU has expanded beyond academic mobility, and is set to reach a new level – joint training of researchers.

International Academic Cooperation Research Group Discusses the Exorbitant Privilege of Developed Nations

On June 15, 2026, the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs and the University of Campinas (Brazil) hosted a seminar under the International Academic Cooperation project “Approaches to an Alternative International Monetary System” focused on the theme of “Exorbitant Privilege in the Modern Global Economy”. The seminar featured presentations by project lead A.V. Podrugina and team member V.A. Romanova.
